बीरबल अकबर का मंत्री था। बादशाह उससे बहुत प्रसन्न था। उसे सदैव अपने साथ रखता था। बिना बीरबल के वह बाहर नहीं जाता था। बीरबल इतना बुद्धिमान था कि  हर एक पर्शन का उचित उत्तर शीघ्र देता था। वह हर मुश्किल पर मदद हर कठिनाई में देता था। जब भी बादशाह दुखी होता था तब बीरबल उसे खुश कर देता था। बीरबल की मृत्यु लगभग 500पूर्व हुई थी। आज भी बीरबल की कहानियां लोग पढ़ते हैं।

The Snake and the Ants

There was a once a poisonous snake who lived  in a hole. He thought, I am the most powerful of all every body  of me is scared of me. I am the king of the jungle . one day  he saw an anthill  near the hole in which  he lived  he was  outraged. he decided  to destroy  the ugly  Anthill and attacked  it. As he was about  to attacked  the anthill , one of the Snts saw him . He quickly  went  inside  and warned  everybody  within  moments thousands of Snts  came out  and bit  the snake  all over his body.the snake  couldn't

एक ज़हरीला साँप था जो एक बिल में रहता था। वह सोचता था, मैं सबसे शक्तिशाली हूँ, हर कोई मुझसे डरता है। मैं जंगल का राजा हूँ। एक दिन उसने उस बिल के पास एक चींटी का टीला देखा जिसमें वह रहता था, वह क्रोधित हो गया। उसने बदसूरत चींटी के टीले को नष्ट करने का फैसला किया और उस पर हमला कर दिया। जैसे ही वह चींटी के टीले पर हमला करने वाला था, एक साँप ने उसे देख लिया। वह जल्दी से अंदर गया और सबको चेतावनी दी, कुछ ही क्षणों में हज़ारों साँप बाहर आए और साँप के पूरे शरीर पर काट लिया। साँप खुद को बचा नहीं सका।
