It (Lesson –20)
IT –. यह, ये
Today, we are going to teach you the concept of "It" is used in many
'It & "This' both are almost the same I used but the differences "
"This" is used for both living and non-living but "it' is used in many types of sentences and has many rules. Let's have a look one by one
1st Concept:
"It" and "This" both are almost same in usage but the difference is:
'This' is used for both living and non-loving but 'it' is used only for living.
Examples:
It is a pen (Correct)
This is love. (Correct)
It is love (Correct)
This is my friend Ram. (Correct)
It is my friend Ram (Incorrect)
यह एक पेन है
यह एक पेन है।
यह प्यार है
यह प्यार है
यह मेरा दोस्त राम है।
यह मेरा दोस्त राम है।
(Incorrect because 'It' can't be used with living beings.
You might find people using 'It' with living being as well. Like "it" is my friend , Rahul."It's nothing but an exception is modern English.
2nd Concept.
'It' as a subject.
No Sentence can start with any day I.e. Today is Monday
"It is day Monday today"
Monday, Sunday, Yesterday, etc. If I say "today is Monday".
It is an incorrect answer; Rather I need to say ' it is Monday today's basically 'it' is to be used as a subject if any day is mentioned. Example :
It was a holiday yesterday.
It is my birthday today.
It will be a holiday tomorrow.
It was something special that day.
What was it the day before yesterday?
It was day Sunday yesterday.
कल छुट्टी थी।
आज मेरा जन्मदिन है।
कल झूठी होगी।
उस दिन कुछ खास था।
परसो गया था।
कल रविवार था।
3rd Concept.
Has been (गया है, चुका है)
Had been (गया था, चुका था)
'It' as a Subject.
['It' is used as a subject in such kind of Sentences.]
Example :
It has been two days.
It has been two years.
It had been many years.
It has been centuries.
It has been about two hours.
दो दिन हो गए हैं
दो साल हो चुके हैं।
कई साल हो चुके थे।
सर्दियां बीत चुकी हैं।
करीब दो घण्टे हो गए थे।
Now I'll tell you who has taken this match time. It's 'me', 'him,'or 'who?
'मुझे', 'उसे', या फिर 'किसे'।

It has been 5 months since Seeta.
It had been 3 years for me.

Let us added in these sentence something more :
(Subject + V1+ing) निरंतर
Reading, पढ़ते हुए
Sleeping, सोते हुए
Playing. खेलते हुए
पढ़ते हुए
सोते हुए
खेलते हुए
On there Subject is still doing the verbs.
When I said "it has been studying for two year to me"
On there Subject @ I am still studying. In Such sentences, I with 1st form of the Vern with only "ing" will use.
But if I said –
Having +V3
Having gone
Having seen
Having met
कर चुके/किए हुए
गए हुए/जा चुके
देखे हुए/देख चुके
मिले हुए/मिल चुके
There is on Subject is not doing the verb whereas that has been done to the work. I say, "it has been for two years, means I have studied for two years and the time has been for two years"such as sentences "I" will use, having with the verb's 3rd form.
Example
(It has been 2 days for me.
It has been 2 days since my meeting.
It has been 2 days since me having met.
It had been 2 years since Ram.
It had been 3 years since Ram met me
It had been 2 years Ram has met me.
