D Sikhs're 1st citizen of India

The Sikhs are first citizen of India
                                                   Dalip Singh Wasan, Advocate.
In 1947 when the British were planning to leave Hindustan, they were not happy and hence they were planning to give the people of Hindustan lesson which should remain with them in all the times to come.  And they encouraged Muslims to have a separate country out of Hindustan and actually this conspiracy worked and Hindustan was divided in two parts, India and Pakistan. And at this stage, the Sikhs too were given an option, but the wise Sikhs leading the community, at that stage, opted for India.  The wise Sikh leaders were having the knowledge that the Sikhs are not concentrated to one area, they are a mobile and progressive community and they cannot be collected to one area and keeping in view these facts, they opted for India and this option was final for them and it is on record that after partition of India the Sikhs spread in whole of India and it is on record, that they established in each part of India, took that part as final settlement and adjusted themselves with the area they settled.  The people who actually suffered in that division only can tell what happened at that time.    If exact records are seen, we can find that Sikhs killing had been on higher side during this partition. People were killed, people were looted, people were forced to leave their homes and they were forced to leave for unknown places.  Women were insulted and even were taken as wives by people of other religions and all was disturbed.  And at that time the British were instigating the Sikhs to have their own country, but wise Sikhs present at that time preferred for India and actually joined India and after migration too, they spread throughout in all parts of India and it is on record that where-ever they went, they settled well.  The Sikhs being a progressive and a mobile community thought it better that India shall be a better place for them because they had relations with the Hindus and were believers in Hindu mythology, attics and all that.
If we go deep into history, we find that contribution of the Sikhs had always been on higher side and they had been taking part in freedom movement and if we count people jailed, people hanged, people sent to Kale Paani, people tortured, people beaten by police, people fired at and people gunned down with big guns, the number of the Sikhs had always been beyond their average population in this country.  And even after independence, the Sikhs had been taking part in the establishment and development of this country and even in defense, their rule had always been on higher side.
There had been a Sikh Episode and if we go deep, we find that in this episode whole of the Sikh community was not participating and the killings here too wee of the Sikhs and the number of such killings had been on higher side and here too the Sikhs had been kilting the Sikhs and this episode had actually been stopped by the Sikhs functioning on government side.  And since the Sikhs are the first citizens of India, they have adjusted and accepted once again in India and are holding ranks in the society and also on the state side.  Their patriotism is not under doubt.
